[clug] Pop3 mail not working after dovecot update

To be honest this has me stumped

Dovecot has port 110 open but I can't connect, I can't see errors or 
connection problems in the /var/log/maillog

 telnet localhost 110
Trying 127.0.0.1...
telnet: connect to address 127.0.0.1: Connection refused

Anyone got any clues whats going on here?
