[clug] Software Freedom Day 2008 and install fest

I should be available to help out both of those date.  Just give me a
time and place. :)

Regarding the installfest, I just thought you might find it of
interest, that SLUG last year held a "boot camp" which was like an
installfest, but we held many lecture style talks on introductory
topics, which we promoted as a day geared towards people new to, or
thinking of trying out Linux.  We were very lucky to be able to HP's
facilities for the day, since they provied us with rooms and a large
number of desktops which we install ubuntu on for the day.  This was
rather essential, as only a small portion of those who showed up
actually brought their own computers.  Having only promoted the boot
camp at the last day of CeBit, and SFD, the turnover was easily 10
times that of an installfest, and we had almost as many disappointed
people at those who couldn't make, and were asking already when the
next one was, as those who took a leaflet for the day. :)
