Did anyone on this list go to Jon Oxer's H/W tutorial (connecting
the real world into secondlife) and get a kit of parts? Want to offer
to do a talk at CLUG sometime about it?

I have ordered a couple of the Arduino boards from Little Bird
Electronics in Sydney and hopefully will have them by the next CLUG
meeting and might be in a position to do a talk about it/them if
anyone else is interested. These boards are relatively cheap ($40
incl. GST) and interface over USB (and so also get power over USB).
They are based on the Atmel AVR series of microcontrollers, with
full C support via gcc, so great potential for Open Source projects
as well as little hardware interfacing hacks around the home. The
boards themselves are open source (h/w design etc.).

Cheers,

Bob Edwards.
