[clug] Using Debian etch on a P45 motherboard

I'm scoping out a new server for home.  To continue my love affair with virtualisation and Debian, I want to run the Xen-enabled Debian kernel, which means sticking with etch for dom0, at least for now.

I have my eye on something like this for a motherboard: http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_product_info.php?input[product_code]=MB-GA-EP45-DS3P  - the Giga Byte EP45 DS3P.

It's based on the P45 chipset, which AIUI is quite new.

Am I right in assuming it's a pipe dream that etch will run on this natively?

If so, then that's a dead end.  I guess I can look at P35 motherboards, or patch etch with the drivers, or go for another distro.  That's my order of preference, I guess, but I'm happy to consider other options.
