Hi guys,

I was a little bit confused about how to make use of xattr and
alternate data stream features in Samba 3.2.1.

There are two cases that I expected to happened in Samba mountpoint.

        1. On Windows, firstly I mapping a remote samba shared directory as
NTFS driver, then I try to copy a file with "alternate data stream" to that
particular driver. What I expected that there should be a file with "xattr"
on that shared directory. By the way, the backend filesystem supports xattr
related operation. But evently the "alternate data stream" of file just
striped out.

        2. On Linux, I tried to mount a remote samba shared directory at
local filesystem. And also, the remote backend filesystem supports xattr
related operations. But similar with above case, the xattr operations
weren't supported in the mount directory.

Any things should be done during the "configure" , "Installation" or
"mount" process of samba. If someone has a clue, pls give me a hint. Thanks
a lot!

Best Regards
Lipson
