This entire thread is now way off topic and, although occasionally
interesting, shouldn't really be on the CLUG list.

But, I can't help commenting that Alex's statement is a slight rework of
a line from a letter written by a certain Paul to his mate Timothy:

"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." (1 Tim 6:10 NIV)

In the cause of open-source-edness, it is important to give attribution
to others work.
