Just saw this in today's paper. Perhaps FOSS should at least be an
option on the desktops provided by the government.

} The Labor leader yesterday ordered senior bureaucrats to fast-track
plans to } put a computer on the desk of every senior high school
student in the country, } calling for a submission to next week's
cabinet meeting - the first since Labor } poleaxed the Howard government
in Saturday's election.

Subject: [clug] Linux on new school computers

Gday cluggers
The greatest good the new government can do for the australian student
is to have linux as the operating system on their computers. How can we
as a group help make this happen?
I think one of the best ways to do this is by politics. Do any of you
know or have access to any of the labor party politicians? What do you
think is the best way? Any suggestioons?
