I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but there is a very active
OpenSolaris community in Sydney:

And as far as I know it also involves people that work with the "not as
open" Solaris quite regularly. And they even do presentations if you are
willing to travel to Sydney. :) The above link also has a mention of a
mailing list.

Well I started this thread mainly because of curiosity then need help in
any particular area at the moment... but yea it is interesting to what's
happening besides Linux and thanks for the links.
