[clug] changing mac address with avahi

Hi all,
Does anybody know how to change the mac address while using avahi ?
There is a very nice programs (macchanger) that does everything for you,
but as I'm not using if-up/down (using debian!) I don't know where to
call it. With if-up/down I would just write a stanza in
/etc/network/interfaces and put the command in a pre-hook. But with
avahi ?
