I've been using a combination of dtach and rtorrent. They're both available
through standard repositories in Fedora Core. rtorrent is a nice and fast
BitTorrent client with a curses interface; dtach allows you to 'put it in the
background' and detach from it, leaving it running in the background, and then
you attach to it again and it's as if you never left. (Although dtach does no
key interpretation other than recognising its own escape key, rtorrent stops
recognising arrow keys after the first detach - but in recent builds, use ^F
and ^B for right and left and ^N and ^P for down and up respectively).

I'm hoping that the AIGLX/Compiz support in Fedora Core 6 grows some more
nifty features; but then I'm not sure where Beryl fits into this equation either.

Have fun,

Paul
