Check the error messages closely:


> Failed to fetch
> http://mirror.linux.org.au/backports.org/dists/sarge-backports/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz 
> 404 Not Found

Check that directory manually and you'll see it really is not there.
Check your normal repository and you'll see that Packages.gz  is there
in the equivalent location.

Nothing you can do about it, the repository is broke.  You could try a
different one.
