I purchased one last year, called DVE (Digital Video Essentials) (From Sanity
Online) for similar reasons - Flash new big TV, good colour, good resolutions,
but sus Geometry, with a bit of proof of how bad the overscan and
non-squareness was, I got it replaced.

I'd be willing to lend it to you, contact me off list.
