[clug] Skype on Ubuntu

A friend is trying to install the Skype Debian package on Ubuntu.
Apparently it has a dependency on a Debian package, libqtc-something.
In Ubuntu this is called libqt-something. He can ignore the
dependencies and get it installed, but future upgrades are broken
because Ubuntu still says there is a conflict.

What's the best way to fix this?
1. install the Debian libqt package instead?
2. hack the dependency list inside the Skype .deb?
3. something in /etc/apt/preferences?
