Yes, apparently you do not have any partitions. You need to create partitions 
to install any OS onto it.

I don't believe that it saw any partitions - only the full hard drive that 
will eventually contain partitions - this is hdc.

The partitions, once created, would become hdc1, hdc2, and so on.
