[clug] dvd burner

I have been using debian + 2.4.x kernel to burn dvds (data) without any
problems on a testing machine....
I am working on a similar machine (almost identical, except it has
another scsi device - 3ware raid card). The dvd's burn fine, except
after burning the drive sits there flashing, and a reboot is required to
unlock it (I can't eject with software, or manually). If I use cd media
(650MB) - there are no problems, but once I move to dvd media it
freezes. I have tried 2 different brands of dvd media (that work on my
other machine) - and I have made lots of coasters tonight :( -
Has anyone else had similar trouble? - What should I do to look for a
reason? (should I turn on scsi verbose logging in the kernel?).
(as a side note, I have tried swapping dvd burner drives, without any luck).
Any advice greatly appreciated.
