World-renowned guru of the Free Software Movement, Richard Stallman,
will be in Australia as the guest of ACS http://www.acs.org.au in
October 2004.  Richard Stallman is delivering an ANU National Institute
Public Lecture jointly hosted by NIEIS http://ni.anu.edu.au/nieis and
ACS.

*Abstract

Richard Stallman will speak about the goals and philosophy of the Free
Software Movement, and the status and history the GNU operating system,
which in combination with the kernel Linux is now used by tens of
millions of users world-wide.

*Intended Audience

Those interested in the free software movement and GNU.  The lecture
will last approximately 1.5 hours with ample time for discussion.
