[clug] RH can find HDD but SUSE and Debian cannot?

Right. I'd definitely try the Debian 3.1/Sarge CD that I suggested earlier,
as I'd say at a guess your Compaq box has some sort of esoteric SCSI
controller that Debian 3.0 didn't support.
