Canberra Linux Users Group Meeting - 25th November 2004
=======================================================
Date: 25th November 2004 (Fourth Thursday of the month)
Time: 19:00 - 21:00 (or when it finishes)
Speaker: Alex Satrapa
Abstract: Alex will be walking through a Samba installation using
OpenLDAP as the user information backend. This will
cover some of the aspects of an LDAP based
authentication system that aren't covered in the IDEAL
Samba + OpenLDAP HOWTO, such as setting up SSH, KDE3
and login to use LDAP for the backend (through the
magic of PAM), tying a Postfix server into the LDAP
architecture, and arranging for emergency accounts that
can be used for administrative access when the LDAP
backend is not available.
This presentation is intended as a learning and
teaching experience. If you know less than Alex, come
along to learn. If you know more than Alex, come along
to teach!
Venue: Room N101
Computer Science and Information Technology Building
North Road
The Australian National University
