I've been doing work from home, part time, for 2 1/2 years or so,
contracting for a couple Samba-interested companies in the US.  

It seems to work pretty well, particularly with access to the internal
IRC channel.  It helps that my work has been as much 'on Samba' as on
engineering the companies product directly.  (Given my Samba work would
be remote, no matter where I was working ;-)

I have to say, I'm also glad to have my work as a SysAdmin, where I
actually do things in person, on site, etc.
