for the last 4 years, i've been telecommuting fulltime from home in 
Canberra to head office in Sydney (and project managers in Europe). 
for me, it's worked out well, and makes little difference (apart from 
avoiding the meat-commute and pollution of Sydney).  in fact, when i 
do physically visit the office, almost all my communication with 
colleagues is over the network anyway :)
