[clug] Mandrake 10.0 is 4 CDs???

Hi all,

I am now utterly bamboozled by how many CDs are in Mandrake 10.0
Community Download edition. Both the installer and package lists on the
first CD refer to a fourth CD, whereas the Mandrake website lists only
three. There seems to only be three available too via FTP.

Yet if you purchase this from some other companies (handwritten CDRs),
you get four CDs. None of them match the official md5sums though.

I recently upgraded a machine from Mandrakre 9.2 to Mandrake 10.0 and I
am now in trouble for having packages disappear from that machine when
the installer couldn't find the fourth CD. Some of these packages are
really important to the user but not to most people, such as xdvi.

This is both confusing and disappointing. I would like to know what they
are thinking! Perhaps they are withholding the fourth until the
bandwidth usage goes down on their servers? Perhaps the fourth wasn't
ready yet and they are keeping it a secret until the boxed set is ready
in a few months?

Anyway so now I have all three official ISOs, checked with MD5sum, and
I'm working towards an HTTP server to share them with ANU people. In the
meantime, people can drop by with some CDs and I'll burn them. The CDs,
not the people. Email off list for a location and meeting time on
campus.
