[clug] to swap or not to swap that is the question

Speaking of swapping, has anyone had occasion to check how fast it is?
For various reasons, we have:

     Solaris   ~1MB/s
     Tru64     ~4MB/s
     Linux     disk speed (we've seen 70MB/s)

I'm guessing Linux rmap is the reason for the better performance. Anyone
know for sure?
