Has anyone had any experience with using CompactFlash cards (as a drive via
IDE adapter) and linux?

I am looking at building a low power (AC power) firewall
(smoothwall/ipcop/???) and am looking at CF to boot/run from.

My only concern is the relatively short life time of a CF card.

Is there a better way to do it to save on power usage?

Any ideas?
