I recall in 1972/3 (?) we got a B6700 mainframe in fyshwick and the installer (guy with the hammer) told me: pssst...the operating system was "written in india" but the spinning and cluncking parts were "made in portugal". also vaguely recall India was by far leading thinkers in library and information sciences too. jim
