Not about Linux, but if you plan to use rewriteables then the +RW
usually is twice as fast as -RW. There is no reason to not get a
dual standard writer though. I found the Gigabyte
"Model=DVD DUAL GO-W0404A" which looked good on paper, and
pricewise, but so far I did not use it with linux (I can tell
you what system it is in but then you will want to kill me...).
