The Canberra Masonic Centre would be a good (and inexpensive) venue for
100-150 people, or 200 at a pinch. (I've mentioned two rooms already. A
third room could be made available as another 'seminar' room.)

Michael said, "...wear strange robes and engage in arcane rituals..."

Oh, you mean that Linux people wear normal clothes and do not mumble strange
phrases? Speak for yourself! :-)

I recently did a demo of SuSE / KDE at a Lodge meeting. One fellow has asked
me to "drop around in the New Year and put it on my computer."

I'm happy to refer you to the authoritative web site
http://www.uglnsw.freemasonry.org.au/whatis.htm (off
http://www.uglnsw.freemasonry.org.au) -- "Freemasonry: Making good men
better."

I'll happily answer questions and discuss it further offline, or give a tour
of the Canberra Masonic Centre. I'm Secretary of Lodge Caledonia of Canberra
http://www.pcug.org.au/~prellis/caledonia . Our lodge alone raises around
$10,000 for charities each year, quite apart from the effort people put in
individually

Would we have to wear strange robes and engage in arcane
rituals then? Count
		me in!
