[clug] Advertising

I don't mind occassional advertising by members, especially
when it is for stuff like Tivos and genuine bargains.

However, members shouldn't stretch the privilege. Rather than
strict criteria, I'd prefer something like, "Non-commercial
advertisng of relevant items (such as computers) by active
list members is OK, provided it is infrequent and is in keeping
with the community nature of the mailing list."

Cheers,

Antti

I don't think the list has a policy about whether for-sale ads are
allowed or not. Does anyone feel they should be disallowed? At the
very least they need to be marked in the subject.

Maybe only Linux-related stuff should be allowed?

If, before Friday, I get more votes for banning them than for allowing
them, I will update the list charter accordingly.
