Unix Systems Administrator - Optus
Six month contract to Defence Netops

DUTIES
As part of a team of 2:-

- maintain a network of 50 Solaris workstations, 10 Solaris servers 
and a couple of linux boxes across two sites + remote locations.

- manage user accounts and security

- manage documentation and standard operating procedures

SKILLS
A wide range of software is in use and skills in Oracle, Postgres, 
Apache, PHP, Perl, cfengine, Citrix would be well regarded. You 
will be expected to be able to compile and build software from source 
and be able to develop scripts in various languages. At present we 
have scripts in perl, tcl, shell, awk and php.

The systems are used for network management and knowledge of 
Tivoli Netview, Magellan NMS, CiscoSecure and radius is desirable.

As a member of the network management team the opportunity to 
gain experience on routers, switches and Passport carrier equipment
is available.

HR
- the Work location is the DNOC af HMAS Harman

- the present term is for a six month contract as the position is undergoing

market testing. Depending on the results the contract may be extended.

- a Defence clearance to secret is desirable. Following appointment, the 
security clearance will need to be upgraded to TSNV (top secret negative
vet.)
