At the moment, I disagree with that article: is it talking about these in
terms of being an operating system, or a desktop environment? Windows XP
is an operating system, yet the article goes on at length about GNU/Linux
distributions. I, for one, would not equate the former type with the
latter.

Is the present distinction between the two types so blurred so as to be
nonsensical?
