If you need them supported and the system supports PXE booting it's
not that hard to build a special kernel to boot via PXE, and do a
network install.
I ended up using this approach to install on my new laptop, of all
things, thanks to dodgy install media, a dead CD-RW, and a
hot-pluggable floppy drive that claims to be USB . . .
