Lyneham High, ahh good memories.. mostly :)

How large are these roaming profiles of yours? Are you excluding any
directories from the roaming profile? (e.g. Temporary Internet Files).
Are you caching profiles locally or is the whole profile coming down
from the server every single time? This is all stuff that can be
controlled with policy.

Just trying to work out if it's simply that you've got large roaming
profiles coming down over the network. Once the users are logged in,
what is the Samba performance like?
