I now know on a linux system to get the os to reconise a ide as a scsi device
you need to modify somthing like hdb=ide-scsi in lilo.conf.
or even in fstab
/dev/scd0 /cdrom iso etc etc

anybody now how to do this for HPUX ?

All ideas welcome ( friendly ones ).
