Old XFree86 servers in RedHat 7.3

Hi,

I have an old video card S3 Trio64V2/DX that works fine in XFree86 3.3.6 but
doesn't want to work as easily in XFree86 4.x.x.  How can I tell RedHat 7.3
to use XF86_S3 as the X server as opposed to X (4.2.1).  I've tried reading
through startx, but I can't make it use the older XFree86 server.
