PCUG Monthly Meeting - Monday 30th June: Manning Clarke Theatre, ANU :
7.30pm

All welcome:

Speaker - Hugh Blemmings:

Topic - "Linux, Open Source and IBM"

It covers what IBM is doing with Linux globally then drills down into
the
Linux Technology Centre and our team here in Australia in more detail so
it
has a good local flavour to it overall

Hugh first tinkered with Slackware Linux 0.9 in the early nineties and
never looked back. He was the one of the original authors of the gnokii
project (<http://gnokii.org/>http://gnokii.org) and wrote the original
Linux kernel drivers for the Keyspan brand of USB to Serial
adapters. After a stint at the Australian office of Linuxcare, Hugh
joined
IBM's Linux Technology Centre in March 2001 as manager of the OzLabs
kernel
development team.
