The reason being is because, I have a 6 hour session limit of 6 hours, and
if I dc 20 mins before the session limit, I can reconnect straight away. Yea
cron might be easier.

My first reaction was, "why would you?"

I would consider using cron for this, it'd be the easiest way I can 
think of.  Set up a bash script (perl if you must) and then call it from 
cron at the set intervals.
