Monitor question

Hi Guys,

I need some advice. I need to get a new monitor. After a little searching I 
have the choices of

Hitachi 19" Flat Screen CRT - CM721 which vary in price from $521 (Syndey) to 
around $670 (Canberra).

or

a second hand DELL 21" Sony Trinitron which are probably around 2 years old.
The Dell's are either the Ultrascan P1110 (Flat screen) or D1626HT (Ultrascan 
1600HS series) for around $500-$600 delivered.

Obviously, there is no warranty on the Dell's but the Hitachi normally comes 
with a 3 year warranty.

Which should I pick ... the extra 2 inches and get a 2-3 year old monitor 
with no warranty or go with the Hitachi?

PS. There are good sites around which evaluate motherboards etc, (eg 
tomshardware.com, hothardware.com etc) does anyone know of any Linux 
orientated sites such as these?
