ZIP 100 ATAPI

Correct me if I'm wrong but your zip drive is showing up as hdc - specifically
partition 4.  Why are you trying to mount a scsi device - sda4?  As root try

mount -t vfat /dev/hdc4 /mnt/zip100.0

I think you will have much better success.  My zip drive works fine on my Debian
Potato box running 2.2.14.
