There aren't any easy questions in DNS.
1. Is the DHCP coming from the Win2000 boxen or another server?
2. Do you want the Linux client to do the updating, or should the DHCP server 
do it? If the client, are you using dhclient?
3. Are you configured to only accept GSS-TSIG updates on the Server?
