linux-request at lists.samba.org with "help" in the subject and/or the body of
the message. I did that and got the helpfull help message back telling me
the commands that I can use. Here is the one that I think will work.

    subscribe [password] [digest-option] [address=<address>]
Subscribe to the mailing list. Your password must be given to
unsubscribe or change your options. When you subscribe to the
list, you'll be reminded of your password periodically.
'digest-option' may be either: 'nodigest' or 'digest' (no
quotes!) If you wish to subscribe an address other than the
address you send this request from, you may specify
"address=<email address>" (no brackets around the email
        address, no quotes!)

If I use this command : subscribe [foobar password (what you thought I would
send my password =p)] digest address=pjfoley at bigpond.com

Will that overwrite the old address? or will I still receive mail on the
old address and have to unsubscribe it?

I have gone to http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/linux and then
clicked on edit options but it does not provide a way to change the email
addresses. Do I have to just un-subscribe and then re-subscribe?

Peter.
