I must say I'm very puzzled by the whole situation.
AFAIK, iiNet has bought out several ISP's, so you would think that they would
be pretty familiar with the process by now. Also, presumably the main
'asset' an ISP has is their customer base. If you peeve a significant amount
of the customer base of the company you just bought and they leave to go
elsewhere, then you have thrown away part of the asset you just bought.
Then again, perhaps iiNet figures that the money it saves by not bothering to
do the transition well makes up for the lost revenue due to the loss of
customers. Who knows?
Anyway, I feel sorry for the Webone employees that either had to move to Perth
or look for new jobs.
