Problem partitioning disk

Hi,

I have a 160GB RAID array to partition and it doesn't seem to be working
very well. Both fdisk and cfdisk die with the error "File size limit
exceeded" (actually, it seems to be a signal of sorts).

I suspect it's due to the fact that I want extended partitions and [c]fdisk
needs to seek a fair way to place them.

Anyway,

- has anyone seen this before?
- at what size does it kick in? (128GB?, odd number)
- is it a kernel problem, libc problem or [c]fdisk problem?

Kernel 2.4.17
Glibc 2.1.3
fdisk v2.10s
cfdisk 2.10s

Thanks in advance,
