internet dial up connection

Hi folks
I've sent one email to the list about my modem (IF
works with linux or not?) and someone mailed me back
that It works with Mandrake but I am not sure if it
works with red hat 7.3 as well.I am using both red hat
linux 7.3 and windows 98.I can set up a connection
with kppp but the thing is ; it initializes but it
doesn't start connecting.By the way it is a dial up
connection.
My modem is HSP56 Micro Modem PCTEL inc
