Gnucash 1.6.8 (the latest stable release) has a postgres backend.
Haven't used it, but it is apparently quite usable (we get a few
questions about it, but they're usually about setting it up). It is,
however, only single user at this stage. The core of the application has
been written to allow a client-server model, but that has never been
implemented and doesn't look likely in the near future unless a new
developer joins the team and wants to make it happen.

The even newer 1.8 release (due out at christmas) has some new functions
- particularly scheduled transactions, Accounts payable and receivable,
and OFX import support. Someone is currently working on making the
postgres backend usable for 1.8, but that is not guaranteed to make the
cutoff for the first 1.8 release. In the meantime, the XML file format
works well (and since we're only single user at this point, its not a
problem).

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me directly. I have a
fairly good idea of the current thoughts of the development team.

Conrad
(gnucash alpha/beta tester, occasional developer, and groupie).
