You're asking about Port trunking/Link Aggregation according to IEEE 802.3ad
It needs some smarts at the receiving end to put it back together,
 like a manageable switch.

Most mainstream networking equipment handles it,
 but does it exist in Linux yet?

I'd be interested to hear too...
