Thought I might pass this one since we seem to have a lot of very

Andi Gutmans has been experimenting with compiling PHP using LCC.

LCC is a small and fast compiler - up to 66% faster than GCC in some 
cases. To developers who have to wait while PHP compiles this is a great 
help.

Apparently there are a number of areas of PHP that LCC currently doesn't 
like - if you have experience with making C code work with different 
compilers and would like to help out, please post a message to the list.
