Q: PPPoE and virtual NICs

Does anybody know if you can create a virtual NIC *without* an IP
address?

I'm trying to setup multiple PPPoE sessions without turning to multiple
physical NICs.

I can specify the vNIC that pppoe will use on the command line, but I'm
having problems creating the vNIC without assigning an IP address.

Has anybody ever tried this or had success before???
