While you're at it, take a look at video projectors.  In the last 
year they've come down in price and the brightness and picture 
quality is simply amazing (well, at 2000 lumens).

The latest APC magazine has a review of several available in Oz.  And 
most of these can take RGB or VGA/XGA video in addition to svideo, so 
they make a good computer screen too.
