SIGABORT cause?

Hey,

I have written an app, and because it is up to my usual standard, it is
getting a lot of SIGABORTs (90% of regressions or so). Now, I've googled,
and can see _lots_ of copies of the abort() manpage, but nothing
discussing why I would be sent this signal. Stevens has also failed me for
the first time in a long time.

Let's therefore assume that I'm stupid, and it's so obvious that no one
would want to document it.

Can I have a hint please?
