Which USB Modem?

Presumably on the phone line. Only the modem tends to get zapped, even
though it's protected. The modem power is behind a surge protector that is
shared with several other things which don't have a problem. This is not
impossible, since the power and phone lines go in different directions -- I
think. The modem (and not the normal phone) is particularly vulnerable,
since it will be off the hook at the time.
