Upgrading my monitor - comments sought

I second the DiamondView; I've got a 'DiamondView 1786FD' here, and it's
beautiful.  1280x960 at 85Hz, perfectly flat.  Doesn't have a BNC
connector, but neither does my three-year-old TNT.

Speaking of monitors, what on Earth is the point of a 17" monitor that
only runs at 1024x768?  Or 19" at the same?  There seem to be a lot of
shops selling computers with "19" Monitor!!!!!" which run at the same
resolution (1024x768) as my no-name POS 14" did.  Maybe I'm just spoiled
by 1280x960...
